Truthuru

An advanced species descended from a common ancestral race with the Surrians.

Truthuru are large and generally muscular aliens in the galaxy of Black Horizon. They are genetically related to the [[Surrians]] and more closely resemble the original members of their race, who first ventured into space and settled on distant planets.

Truthuru have six limbs — four arms and two legs — but they predominantly use their massive forearms as legs most of the time. Their evolutionary homeworld has high gravity, and the additional support was needed for efficient movement. As they settled on lower-gravity worlds, their posture changed, freeing up all their arms. This shift in physiology led to the emergence of the new race of Surrians, while the Truthuru remained more or less the same.

Over thousands of years, the split between the Truthuru and Surrians has hardened into a racial war between the two. The Surrians in particular look down upon the Truthuru, calling them names like "Wujisa jisa," roughly translated to "dirt hands," referring to the Truthuru's continued use of their arms for movement.

The Truthuru see themselves as more closely connected to their original evolutionary heritage and homeworld, which gives them a certain sense of pride.

Truthuru remain incredibly strong and fierce, usually standing above 2 meters tall, but they can vary their posture to use only their legs for support, giving some a height of almost 3 meters.

There are roughly 6 billion Truthuru in the galaxy, but they are being vastly outcompeted by the Surrians, who often control vast stretches of space.

An ancestral race to the Surrians and Truthuru is credited with establishing communication with a [[Worcen]] star system around 24,000 BAF, an event known as [[Second Contact]].
