The original Horizon Drive was pioneered by the Tartheans and used by the earliest civilizations before being lost for hundreds of thousands of years. Rediscovered around 21,000 BAF, it enabled the rise of the Empire of the Sun. The Empire of the Eternal Star developed a far superior version, kept secret until a Korgen revolution seized and reverse-engineered it around 6,000 BAF, opening advanced FTL travel to the wider galaxy.
