Terraforming
Terraforming is the practice of modifying a planet's atmosphere, temperature, and ecology to make it habitable.
Terraforming is the ancient science of reshaping a world. Through controlled atmospheric injection, thermal regulation, and ecological seeding, a barren rock can be turned into something living. It is slow, expensive, and requires a level of patience that few powers in the modern galaxy possess.
The Eulian Eastern Colonies
The Eulian Empire still maintains a handful of eastern colonies where terraforming operations continue. These projects were initiated centuries ago during an era of expansion when habitable worlds were not yet within easy reach. The colonies remain a point of pride for the Empire, proof that Eulian patience and engineering can bend nature itself to their will.
However, even within Eulian space, the practice has diminished. Why spend generations nurturing a dead world when conquest offers faster results?
A Forgotten Art
Across the wider galaxy, terraforming has largely been abandoned. The knowledge still exists in archives and academies, but the will to apply it has faded. With countless habitable worlds already populated, and military might making conquest far more efficient than cultivation, terraforming has become a curiosity rather than a necessity.
Some scholars warn that this short-sightedness may eventually cost the galaxy dearly. Resources are not infinite, and the day may come when there are no more flourishing planets left to conquer.
