Corrus Citadel

Massive Consortium starships that serve as local churches, recruitment centers, and strategic outposts.

Citadels are massive starships, standing half a kilometer tall, and they function as local bases of operation for the Consortium. These citadels essentially serve as churches that help maintain the religion and followers of the Consortium.\n\nThe Consortium operates by dispatching messengers in the form of Cardinals throughout the vast galaxy, engaging in negotiations with local leaders and governments to establish a Corrus Citadel. This Citadel serves as a new holy site, a recruitment center, and a strategic relay point for the Consortium. As the Consortium's objective is not to rule systems but rather to gain influence, the Citadels can often be deployed rapidly without resorting to military conflict.\n\nHowever, once the citadels are established, the Chosen and the warriors of the Consortium gain critical access to the local areas.\n\nEven very remote and distant systems or villages can get access to a citadel.

Influence and Purpose

Citadels are one of the very unique aspects of the Corrus Consortium. They become a central gathering point for followers of the religion in that region, and are the Consortium's main way of maintaining a grip and influence over the people living on the planets. With citadels, the Consortium has the ability to reach and guide billions of people, regardless of whether they live in urban or rural environments. Citadels serve as essential recruitment centers, places of worship, and the local stronghold for missionary Cardinals.

Arrival and Ceremony

Before a citadel is brought to a new location, Cardinals are often sent in advance, spreading the religion and building tales of the eventual arrival of the citadel. A celebration is usually held on the day of the Citadel's arrival. As it descends, a massive burst of fire shoots out from below, lighting up the sky, only to be trapped by a red shining beacon atop the citadel — signifying the eventual end of the universe, which will become the genesis of a new world of Corr's followers.

Sometimes these celebrations measure in the thousands, sometimes in the millions. The arrival of the massive starship is, for many people, beyond anything they have ever seen.
